FSV Mainz manager Thomas Tuchel says he will give defender Park Joo-ho every conceivable chance of proving his fitness for this weekend's Bundesliga fixture with Schalke.
The South Korea international is battling a thigh injury he sustained in last week's 2-0 win over Hannover and is in doubt for Friday night's trip to Gelsenkirchen.
Park, usually a left-back, has been in fine form in a more advanced position recently evidenced by an assist and a goal in the past four matches so Tuchel will be crossing his fingers ahead of the Schalke clash.
"It's going to be tight," said the Mainz boss. "We'll make a decision very late as to whether he'll be able to play or not."
Mainz currently sit seventh on the German Bundesliga table while Schalke are placed fourth, seven points clear of die Nullfunfer.
