FSV Mainz completed the signing of Koo Ja-cheol from VfL Wolfsburg on the weekend.
The 24-year old South Korean midfielder passed a medical on Saturday and penned a four-and-a-half-year deal with die Karnevalsverein, delighting manager Thomas Tuchel.
"He is a very tough, versatile player with exceptional technical qualities and a high work rate," said Tuchel.
"His way of playing football and his character make him a very good addition to our team. I'm very happy that we've managed to complete this transfer, as he can give our team an extra boost."
Koo joined Wolfsburg from Jeju United in 2011 and made a total of 34 appearances for die Wolfe. He also spent 18 months on loan with FC Augsburg, scoring eight times in 37 outings.
