West Ham United co-chairman David Gold is confident Modibo Maiga will get his chance this summer.
The 27-year old Malian striker has been with the Hammers since 2012 but has appeared less than 40 times for the east London club.
Loan spells at QPR and Metz have restricted Maiga's output at Upton Park following his arrival from Sochaux but according to Gold, he will be given a chance to prove himself under new manager Slaven Bilic.
In response to an inquiry regarding Maiga from a West Ham fan, Gold wrote the following on Twitter:
Maiga is in the pre-season squad. It's up to him and Slaven to decide what will happen. He will get his chance. dg https://t.co/Uk4k1Iovuc
