West Ham striker Modibo Maiga is ready for the Premier League after scoring his first goal for the club in the 2-0 League Cup success over Crewe. Hammers boss Sam Allardyce believes overseas players need time to adjust to the rigours of the Premier League and Maiga has been restricted to substitute appearances against Aston Villa and Swansea.
"Of course, scoring my first goal was great and I was happy to contribute to the victory," the Mali international told the club's official website.
"I hope to score a lot more goals for West Ham in the future.
"I really, really want to do well here and have real determination to be successful with West Ham.
"I came here to play a big role in the Premier League. I feel like I am ready to contribute now."
