Maierhofer on outer at Wolves

Skysports.com reports Wolves are planning to offload striker Stefan Maierhofer this summer. Maierhofer, who joined Wolves last summer from Rapid Vienna, has failed to make an impact at Molineux after struggling to establish himself in Mick McCarthy's plans.

The 27-year-old made just nine appearances in the first team last term and spent a month on loan at Bristol City at the back end of the season.

Maierhofer's agent, Max Hagmayr, has confirmed he is talking to interested clubs about a move away from Molineux.

"We are talking to some clubs about Stefan and there has been interest in Germany, but nothing concrete as yet," Hagmayr told skysports.com.

"Normally Stefan wants to stay and play at Wolverhampton, but he has been informed that he should go as the manager does not count on him.

"We will now wait and see what offers come in for Stefan."
