Stefan Maierhofer was happy to get off the mark on his Wolves debut against Blackburn Rovers.

"It is better when I don't score and win, or if we make one point, but it is always good as a striker to score,'' he said.

"Every time I give my best and for 90 minutes I will play football and run and fight and I hope to get more fans in England. This is a good league, with good fans and good stadiums.

"In the biggest stadia in Austria we have 25,000. The most fans that come to Rapid Vienna is 17,500 and it is full.

"For my first game at Blackburn the atmosphere was good. I'm very happy to be here.

"It's a big change for me but Wolves are a club with a long history.
