Brazilian full back Maicon help the Manchester City win many trophies following his move from Inter Milan. He has already played under City boss Roberto Mancini, with the Italian manager having spent two years at the Inter helm prior to taking charge of City.
"I want to make great history at Manchester City as I have done over here at Inter Milan," the 31 year old told City TV.
"I want to make history over there and that is why I have made this decision and I am sure everything will be all right, because I am going to work alongside great players.
"It will be a pleasure working alongside them and to help them win many titles."
