Inter Milan defender Douglas Maicon insist he is happy to have remained at the club despite strong interest from rivals in the summer.

The Brazil international played his first match of the season in Tuesday night's 2-2 draw with FC Twente and although he admits he is not at full fitness, is happy to still be wearing an Inter shirt.

"I am happy that this injury has healed, although clearly I am not at my best physically. I'm slowly getting there to play this season well," he said.

'I am happy to have remained at Inter. I'm certainly at a great club and we won everything last season, I'm sure we'll also do well again this year, as the team has basically not changed."
