Steve McClaren praises his staff for Newcastle United's successful pre-season tour of the United States.

Newcastle United have enjoyed a fruitful tour of the United States and it has been clear to see that the Magpies are making progress under manager Steve McClaren.

Following the conclusion of the tour, McClaren has been left very satisfied with the outcome and has reserved special praise for his staff for making the trip a successful one for the club.

McClaren told the Chorincle: "We don't realise the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. The staff from day one have been absolutely magnificent. They've taken on board what we have been doing.

"The work they do behind the scenes to make it so smooth for the players, we take for granted. But there's a lot of work. The medical team, the masseurs, the kit men and the coaches make it an easier trip. I have to credit the players and staff."
