Newcastle United have been handed a double injury blow during their pre-season tour of the United States.
Newcastle duo Emanuele Riviere and Remy Cabella were sent home from the club's pre-season tour of the United States due to injuries.
Manager Steve McClaren has now gone on to reveal that Riviere has a knee injury while Cabella is suffering from a thigh problem and has stated that he does not know when the duo will make a full recovery.
McClaren said: "Riviere has been sent back home. He had a scan, knee problem. I think it's a meniscus and needed a small operation."
Speaking regarding Cabella, he continued: "We don't know how long it is exactly. But just before we came away he felt something in his thigh. We won't take risks with players and we will just have to see how long that will be. So he's gone back."
