According to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, Atletico Madrid have reportedly lured Arsenal starlet Fran Merida back to Spain. Merida has had enough of being overlooked by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and will leave in search of more first-team opportunities.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has made it clear in recent weeks he would like the Spanish youngster to remain at the Emirates, but he could give no guarantees as to first-time action.

The 21 year old has made just three appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring a solitary goal against Bolton Wanderers in January.
