Luka Modric has made it vehemently clear that he wants Sergio Ramos to stay at Real Madrid.
The Spanish defender continues to be linked with a summer move to Manchester United but teammate Modric is confident the club captain will be going nowhere anytime soon.
"I hope that he stays," said Modric in Melbourne at a press conference for Friday night's clash with Manchester City.
"He is a very important part of the team. He is our captain, our leader on and off the pitch.
"He is happy where he is. He is our best defender and he wants to stay at the club."
