Madine injury puts Wednesday in the frame for new striker

Sheffield Wednesday manager Gary Megson has confirmed that striker Gary Madine has been ruled out with a broken toe. Megson is now looking for a replacement for the 21 year old who has scored 11 goals in 19 appearances for the Owls this season.

Megson told the League Oneclub website: "Losing Gary for six weeks with a broken toe is a blow.

"I've been given the go-ahead to try to get a centre forward, which we're trying to do.

"Sometimes you have to take a player who can do a job in either of two positions."
