Mackintosh leaves Man City

Alistair Mackintosh is leaving his £300,000-a-year Manchester City job as chief executive.

The Manchester Evening News says the 37-year-old's departure after 12 years at the club was announced by new executive chairman Garry Cook at a morning staff meeting.

The two men had earlier met to discuss future strategy. A statement is due to be released by the club, but his departure is understood to have been mutual.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Mackintosh should Rick Parry leave Anfield and it is understood that Arsenal have been monitoring his position and that Fulham are also keen for Mackintosh to join them.
