Cardiff City boss Malky Mackay felt his side let themselves down with defensive mistakes in the 3-0 loss to Southampton on Boxing Day.
The Bluebirds conceded all three goals prior to the half-hour mark at the Cardiff City Stadium which prompted negative words from Mackay whose side sits perilously close to the relegation zone.
Mackay also played down claims that uncertainty surrounding his future contributed to the manner of the defeat.
"I can't make excuses for that. My team have been working hard but we made three errors," he told Sky Sports.
"I haven't been given a date yet or know when I will meet the owner but I will be in training tomorrow and if it was down to me I will still be in charge against Sunderland (this weekend).
"I have great players and a great staff here and we are in the Premier League so we should be enjoying it. It's not easy when some of our laundry has been aired in public."
