Manchester United youngster Federico Macheda has urged his strike partner Wayne Rooney to remain at the club.
The 19-year old promising Italian attacker would push up the pecking order at Old Trafford if Rooney were to leave but he insists the team would benefit from having him stay.
"There would be more chances for me if Wayne wasn't here but it is better to have him in the squad," the ex-Lazio man said.
"He is a good striker. The squad is stronger with him here."
