Israeli forward Tomer Hemed is set to become Rangers first summer signing after quitting Maccabi Haifa.
The 24-year olds agent will hold talks with 'Gers officials early this week and will likely join the Scottish champions as a free agent.
Hemed will also avoid the need to obtain a working visa as he recently acquired a Polish passport as his mother was born there. This means he can sign for any club in the European Union without needing a work permit.
It is believed that Rangers faced competition from clubs in Belgium, Italy and Spain but they seem to have won out and are expected to announce the signing this week.
