Olympique Lyon defender Sebastien Squillaci is being linked with Arsenal.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is seeking defensive cover in January, with Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure leaving for the African Nations Cup in the New Year.
Squillaci, rated highly by Wenger, is available for £5 million and can play at centre-half and fullback.
