Olympique Lyon signing Rafael has explained his decision to leave Manchester United.

Rafael signed for OL yesterday, choosing the French giants ahead of rival offers from Galatasaray and Benfica.

He told Foot Mercato: "I stayed 10 years in Manchester, and I played for eight years.

"It's good to change, to discover a new country and a new culture.

"Is this a good choice to join l'OL? Yes, of course, that's why I made this choice."
