Hugo Lloris admits he chose Olympique Lyon over offers from AC Milan and Tottenham.

The former Nice goalkeeper revealed: "We all know what Milan are, one of the best clubs in the world.

"But everything got complicated about my role in the club. They couldn't guarantee that I will play on a regular basis. And they have six goalkeepers at Milan so that tells you everything.

"In the end, Lyon came in for me and this club were my big wish. I want to win Ligue 1 and I think this was the best step for my career so far.

"I also had an offer from Tottenham, which I refused. If you would go abroad, you would sign for Milan. Milan are Milan and Tottenham can't compare with that.

"I also had an offer in December from Atletico Madrid, but I didn't want to go to Spain as there are no French players at that club."
