Lyon prospect Maxime Gonalons admits Arsenal interest

Olympique Lyon prospect Maxime Gonalons admits he is a target for Arsenal.

The promising defensive midfielder has signed a new deal that will run until 2014, which has come as a major relief to all those at Stade Gerland.

Gonalons, 20, would have been out of contract in the summer, when Arsene Wenger was primed to make his move.

The youngster, who scored against Liverpool in the Champions League, confirmed Gunners scout Gilles Grimandi spoke to his agent and it made him think about the prospect of joining the Emirates outfit, says the News of the World.
