Lyon president Aulas: I didn't want to lose Lacazette

Olympique Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas is adamant he never wanted to lose Alexandre Lacazette.

OL sold Lacazette to Arsenal last summer, along with Corentin Tolisso to Bayern Munich.

Aulas said: "When you sell a player, it's not because you absolutely want him to leave, but because the player wants it.

"We realize that fixed assets increase from year to year. Here we can see, the last three sales were Samuel Umtiti, Corentin Tolisso and Alexandre Lacazette for very important sums, very significant, but they increase from year to year and the stock increases are extremely strong. Even if we did not want to sell, we would have to sell."
