Olympique Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has made it clear he is counting on Nabil Fekir next season.
Fekir's father has revealed interest from Manchester City and Arsenal in recent weeks.
But Aulas wants Fekir to stay and offered the youngster his support as he considers whether to pledge his international future to France or Algeria.
"Concerning Nabil, he is a lovely boy, who has a great talent, my Messi to me," said Aulas.
"My heart goes out to him, it is difficult to choose because he would play in the two teams that match his culture. We've made sure to protect him, because at 21 years old when the hype falls on you, it's difficult to handle."
