Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has denied rejecting the chance to sign Gabriel Jesus on the cheap.

Aulas has rubbished talk that his club refused the chance to sign Gabriel Jesus for €1m.

A report in L'Equipe – citing Lyon's South American scout Marcelo – claims the club was offered Jesus before he joined Manchester City from Palmeiras.

But Aulas tweeted: “Mr Marcelo, nonsense".

Gabriel is yet to experience defeat as a City player since his arrival last January.
