Olympique Lyon have offered fullback Aly Cissokho to Arsenal.

The Daily Mail says Arsenal have been told they can sign Cissokho for £8million.

Injuries to Kieran Gibbs, Andre Santos and Carl Jenkinson have forced Arsene Wenger to look into the transfer market, though he would rather secure a loan signing this month.

Newcastle have also been linked with the former Porto defender, who cost Lyon £12.9m when they signed him in July 2009.

Cissokho is keen on a move to England and his representatives are due to hold talks with Lyon about securing a move.
