Lyon coach Genesio: Everton brawl no motivation for us

Olympique Lyon coach Bruno Genesio insists there's been no mention of their clash at Everton ahead of tonight's return.

Everton go to Lyon a fortnight following an all-in brawl was sparked late on after Ashley Williams had shoved OL goalkeeper Anthony Lopes. The fallout saw one Everton fan banned for life after clipping Lopes across the back of the head.

"For me, this first leg is totally over. I did not even mention it with my players," argued Genesio.

"What matters is how to approach this return match at the tactical level or state of mind. And do not think about what happened in the first leg."

Williams, meanwhile, insists he's calm facing Lyon tonight.

The Welshman said, “I don't mind, it's just football and in the last game it was a lot of nothing, emotions were running high, that happens, and you just get on with it.

“I don't know what their reaction will be but I will just try and do my job as the best I can and try and win the game.

“I've been in football long enough to not let something like that effect me."
