Olympique Lyon have accepted a bid from Tottenham for striker Fred.

The Observer says despite sports director Damien Comolli's public protestations that Tottenham "are not in the market for any strikers", Lyon have accepted their £9m offer for Brazil forward Fred.

While Paris St-Germain have also met Lyon's terms, neither club has satisfied Fred's high wage demands, with the striker looking for an annual salary of around £4.5m - considerably over Tottenham's current wage ceiling and more than double his Lyon salary.
