Lynden Gooch has signed new terms with Sunderland.

Gooch has signed a new three-year deal, keeping him on Wearside until 2019.

The 20-year-old Californian joined the Black Cats in 2012 having impressed at high school level in the US, progressing up through the ranks to make his first-team debut in this season's Capital One Cup win over Exeter City.

Since then USA youth international has spent time on loan at Sky Bet League One side Doncaster Rovers where he made 10 appearances, prior to which he played a key role for Sunderland's under-21s during a groundbreaking campaign.
