Lyn Oslo coach Henning Berg is emerging as a new favourite for the Blackburn Rovers job.

The Times says Blackburn supporters have made no secret that they would like Alan Shearer, whose goals helped the club to the Premier League title in 1995, to succeed Hughes. Sources close to Shearer have indicated that the former England striker is desperate to return to football, despite pursuing a successful media career since his retirement in 2006, but he may face stiff competition from Berg.
