Louis van Gaal says winning the FA Cup with Manchester United was the greatest achievement of his career.
Van Gaal won the Champions League with Ajax and titles with Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
But he told De Telegraaf: "Yes, that was the greatest achievement.
"I'd been there in the last six months on the scaffold. With my head in a gallows. At the hands of the English media.
"And then you as a man are trying to stick to your vision and for those players of Manchester United to continue inspire. If you then still can win the FA Cup, which is a real prize in England, then you leave as a proud coach."
Van Gaal also revealed he's still being paid by United.
"I still get paid a year. And that's not wrong, mind you, that salary. Only I am not allowed to give interviews."
