Manchester United boss Louis van Persie is considering dropping Robin van Persie for James Wilson ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace. The Daily Express says Van Persie is coming under increasing pressure from teenage striker Wilson to start at Old Trafford.
Van Persie has scored just once in his last four United games - a last-minute equaliser against Chelsea - and has been criticised for failing to reach the standards he set in his debut season for the Red Devils under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Wilson is yet to start a Premier League game for Louis van Gaal but has come off the bench three times this season, replacing Van Persie in the 1-0 derby defeat to City on Sunday.
The 18-year-old scored his sixth goal for the United Under-21s on Monday during the 3-2 defeat to Leicester - and was then taken off before the hour mark.
And against Palace the United trainee could permanently replace the Dutchman in the first team.
