LVG all for England inclusion for Man Utd defender Jones

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is happy with the England selection of Phil Jones.

United defender Jones has missed the majority of the start of the current campaign due to injury and he only made a return to full fitness recently.

Nonetheless, England manager Roy Hodgson decided to include the 23-year old for the Three Lions' European championship qualifiers against Estonia and Lithuania.

Rather than being worried about Jones' fitness though, van Gaal is delighted that the defender has been selected and hopes he can add to his increasing match fitness while away with the Three Lions.

Van Gaal told MUTV: "I think it's always an honour to play for your country. And, in our build-up of his condition in the games, he needs match rhythm, so I shall be very pleased when he plays for England because that helps him to get minutes for Manchester United. That's important."
