Everton fullback Luke Garbutt hopes to see more action after making his Premier League debut in defeat at Southampton.

The 20-year-old was introduced when Leighton Baines limped from the field in the final moments.

"Obviously it's a dream come true," Garbutt told evertontv. "Ever since I was a kid, I aspired to play in the Premier League so I'm buzzing to make my debut. I can't really put it into words.

"The assistant manager told me to warm up and I was thinking I might get my chance, then I got told to sit back down. But obviously I came on and it was surreal really. Hopefully it is the first of many.

"Since I have come back from Colchester, I've been in and around the first team for a while. I train with them every day so I am familiar with all the lads, so I have taken it in my stride."
