Luis Suarez could have his sights set on a future move to Major League Soccer, according to Seattle Sounders GM Garth Lagerwey.
The Barcelona ace was speaking to Lagerwey on the phone in the summer when the MLS club were trying to sort a deal for Nicolas Lodeiro.
Suarez, who acted as Lodeiro's translator when the Sounders made contact during Uruguay's Copa America campaign, said he would like to play for Seattle in 2023 when he eventually leaves Europe.
"He told me maybe he comes in seven years," Lagerwey laughed when recalling the conversation on MLSsoccer.com's ExtraTime Radio.
"That was his quote, so maybe that's when his contract runs out.
"I told him we'd love to have him whenever he was ready, but it was just a funny little anecdote along the way."
