Luis Garcia insists he is not interested in leaving Espanyol after being linked with a move to Newcastle United.
Reports have claimed that the Magpies are considering a bid to bring the forward to the Premier League in January.
But the 26-year-old has shunned talk of a switch to St James' Park as he wants to help Espanyol to build on a promising start to the season.
"I believe that selling players in the winter market will be a big mistake after keeping the squad in the summer," Garcia told the Spanish press.
"I am very happy with the club because we are working to become a big club and, to achieve this objective, it is obligatory to stay with the same setup."
