Luis Fabiano was delighted with his double after Sevilla's 2-0 victory at Levante.
The Brazilian's goals lifted the growing pressure on Sevilla, which have struggled for form and results in the Liga this season.
Fabiano said: "We were a little worried after four consecutive defeats - we needed a win. We have three important points and this brings a little calm to us all.
"I have eight goals and I've played nine or ten games, and that is fine. Surely I will exceed the 15 goals I scored last season. I will continue, perhaps this will be the season for Luis Fabiano."
Meanwhile, Javier Chevanton also featured in the victory only days after he was registered by the club.
"I am very happy and proud to be wearing the Sevilla shirt," said the Uruguay striker. "I wasn't able to score today, but the victory was the all important thing."
