Luis Enrique says negotiations are continuing with AS Roma.
The Barcelona B manager is the primary target for the Giallorossi bench under new President Thomas Di Benedetto.
"The situation is the same as yesterday," he told journalists at his final training session with the club.
"Negotiations are continuing with Roma and the matter has not been concluded. Rome is a beautiful city; I know it and like it very much."
Roma hope that by bringing in Spaniard Luis Enrique, they can also import the Barcelona model of football.
"It is possible to export the Barcelona model into other cities, you just need to have the players with the right profile," insisted assistant manager Barbarà.
"Luis Enrique has all the right qualities to do well in Italy and especially in Rome."
