Luis Enrique happy seeing Barcelona battle to Levante win

Barcelona did enough to win 2-0 at Levante yesterday.

The hosts' skipper David Navarro put the ball into his own net to give Barcelona a first-half lead, but the league leaders had to cope with an excellent response from Levante, who hit the post in their quest for an equaliser.

Luis Enrique, who was taking charge of his 100th Barcelona match in the city of Valencia, would not have been impressed with what he witnessed though, as Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez all put in ineffective showings.

Suarez did net a stoppage-time second to make sure of the victory, but the scoreline was harsh on Levante, who deserved something for their endeavours.

Enrique said: "Obviously it's better to make 100 games than 50, but all this means nothing to me really if it doesn't translate into titles. If these 28 games serve for something at the end of the season, then they will be welcome." .

When he was asked about his side's struggles to kill off some games, Enrique showed his sense of humour: "Well, if we are out of form and we are top, imagine how the rest of the teams are." .

In fact, he said that he has "wonderful sensations" in respect to the team's chances of success this season. .

Luis Enrique defined the win over Levante as a "fair result", although he admitted that at half-time: "Levante could have gone into the dressing room level or with a more favourable score." .

In fact, the Barça manager applauded the home side's play, saying there are "on the up and I'm sure they will get out of the bottom three soon."
