Luis Enrique defiant: I will not change Roma playing style

AS Roma coach Luis Enrique insists he won't change his approach to playing.

Enrique is under pressure and patience running thin after failure to win any of his five official games in charge of the club and scoring just three goals, so he must get a result away to Parma on Sunday night.

"I will never change my idea of football, which is to attack. I am utterly convinced my system won't change," said the ex-Barcelona B manager in his Press conference.

"The numbers are negative right now, but I think we can overturn the situation. However, adapting the system to your players is another matter and I think a good Coach must be able to get the best out of his men.

"One always expects to start out very well and that everyone can be happy, but I cannot decide how a campaign begins. We are where we are and I must find the best solution to return to triumph.

"I said after the draw with Siena that I am responsible and worried by the general situation. What happened is not my style of football, as we do not want to keep insignificant possession. The players know that, but we can't seem to do what it is we'd like to.

"The system is simple, we keep the ball to get through the lines and reach the opposition penalty area with the most attacking players to score a goal. In two months the players have vastly improved in understanding what I want.

"I know the counter-attack is dangerous for our team, as I saw it many times back in Spain. Siena deserved the victory on Thursday and I said that with total honesty. My job is to ensure it doesn't happen again."
