Lugt out as Lavicka happy to pen new Sydney FC deal

Sydney FC have handed coach Vitezslav Lavicka a new contract.

In the meantime, Edwin Lugt has resigned as chief executive after falling out with the Sydney board and three other senior staff members also decided to leave.

Lavicka penned a new 12-month deal yesterday and said: "We had a very successful season as a team in my first year at Sydney FC. The second season was very tough, in particular the start, but we continued to work hard and we've had a good stretch in 2011.

"In the off-season we will work together to bring in some more quality players and focus on playing entertaining football for our fans and for our city.

"Like I have said many times, I love Sydney FC, I enjoy my job here and my family loves Sydney so I am very happy.''
