Inter Milan defender Lucio has thanked fans for their support after victory over Chelsea.

The Brazilian was outstanding in the Champions League win.

"I am happy for the fans' support. It's always important. But I am even happier for my team's victory," said Lucio.

Reflecting on his performance, the summer signing from Bayern Munich added: "I am happy to have been able to help my team in its time of need.

"Chelsea have great quality, but I believe Inter played better.

"I feel great. I took a few knocks, but I have time to recover before the second leg."
