DC United striker Luciano Emilio looks set to leave the club because of salary issues according to the Washington Post.
The 30-year old can leave on a free transfer next month and it seems a likely scenario as DC are looking to lower his rate.
The Brazilian was on a base salary of $720,00 last season, well above the Designated Player salary, and after a drop in form, DC have yet to offer him a new deal.
Luciano scored just ten goals last season - half of what he produced in 2007 - and the option of moving on to a club outside of MLS may be appealing if the club wants to spend less on him.
