Lucas not yet talking about top four for Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva says it is far too early to talk about finishing in the top four.

The Reds have made great progress under Kenny Dalglish so far this year, going undefeated in six match, whilst winning four of them to find themselves sixth on the league table.

After their 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic on Saturday, Lucas felt that talking about the top four is a bit premature, especially with the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham in decent form.

"A lot of things still need to improve,' said Lucas, who made his 100th Premier League appearance," he said.

"I don't think it would be clever on our part to talk about the top four. Two months ago, we were only three points above the relegation zone. But we are playing better."

The Reds will be hoping Fulham can take down Chelsea on Monday night to keep them in sight of the top four as they prepare to take on Sparta Prague in the Europa League in the first leg of their two-legged Round of 32 clash on Thursday night.
