Lucas Leiva convinced Liverpool have turned corner

Lucas Leiva says Liverpool's victory over Tottenham has handed everyone at the club a much-needed confidence boost.

Lucas admits he is delighted with Liverpool's display, but insisted the Reds must continue to perform in a similar fashion if they are to be successful in their pursuit of claiming a place in the top quartet come May.

"It was a really important win," the Brazilian told liverpoolfc.tv. "We knew before the game that we had an opportunity to get just one point behind Tottenham and be close to the top four.

"We know this season has been not so good but we have to keep this momentum and attitude and we had talked about it in the dressing room before hand.

"We need to make sure we keep the intensity up that we showed against Stoke and Tottenham; if we do that, we will be there at the end, for sure.

"We will keep fighting for the top four. Sometimes it is difficult to play with intensity and Tottenham try to keep the ball; they have good players."
