Former Parma striker Cristiano Lucarelli is delighted to be back at Livorno.

"If I want to stay at Livorno, then I must ensure we achieve safety. Staying here will be my prize for the season," said Lucarelli.

"I signed a one-year loan contract and Livorno will take up the option to buy only if we remain in Serie A."

This return was fraught with difficulties, as last week Spinelli pulled the plug and blamed the signing-on fee requested by agent Carlo Pallavicino.

"I have always been the one chasing the Amaranto jersey, but this time Livorno courted me," added the 34-year-old hitman.

"I want to thank my former agent Pallavicino, as stepping aside allowed me to re-open the negotiations."
