Luca Toni is delighted with his move to Roma.
Toni has arrived on a free loan from Bayern Munich for the remainder of the season.
"As soon as the chance arose to join Roma, I had no doubts and wanted to come here immediately," he told journalists in his presentation Press conference.
"I am in the team I always wanted since the problems started with my old club. I am at the Coach's disposal to reach prestigious targets."
Toni returns to Serie A for the first time since leaving Fiorentina in 2007 and hopes to follow in the footsteps of another ex-Viola star, Scudetto-winning Batistuta.
"Batistuta was a great striker and when I was at Fiorentina many people compared me to him. I beat his scoring record in Florence, so 'overtook' him there.
"He proved himself a great champion at Roma and won the title here, while I have yet to play my first game and score my first goal. I have six months to earn the Roma shirt and I'm really fired up."
