Australia's hand in hosting a World cup just got stronger with the appointment of Football Federation Chairman Frank Lowy to the FIFA World Cup Organising Committee. The committee is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the World Cup and to have an Australian involved at the highest level only enhances the chances of a future tournament on Australian shores. "I am very honoured to be appointed to this important FIFA Committee," Mr Lowy said. "It is a privilege for me personally to be able to contribute to the organisation of the world's biggest football tournament. "But, more importantly, it is wonderful recognition of the growing credibility and reputation of Australia within the global football community."
