Former Socceroos David Lowe and Marshall Soper have joined the Newcastle Jets' growing off-field resurgence.
Jets management announced yesterday that Lowe had joined the club as head talent scout whilst Soper has become a specialist skills coach as the revitalized club continue their overhaul.
Head coach Branko Culina said that the new additions would prove to be very beneficial to the Hunter Valley club.
"I couldn't think of anyone better qualified than David to take up this position,'' Culina told the Newcastle Herald.
''He has a wealth of knowledge and is well-known at both the senior and grassroots level.
"We have said all along that we were putting a new structure in place to enable us to do things we couldn't in the past," he added.
''One of those things is to bring in specialist coaches. Marshall was a very good striker at a good level.
''He is a local guy who had to move elsewhere to show what he is capable of. My recollection of him is an outstanding footballer.
''I want him to pass on some of his tricks to our strikers. Down the track we want to be able to do that with different people.
''He will give us maybe another voice and a bit of information and knowledge.''
