Germany coach Joachim Low does not want politics to get in the way of preparations for the World Cup.
The Germans are attempting to defend the World Cup title they won four years ago, but they know it will not be an easy task.
The likes of Spain, Argentina and Brazil all have sights on the biggest prize in football. And Low does not want any distractions, such as the ones surrounding Mesut Ozil and Ilkay Gundogan after their meeting with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"We've had a private discussion and both players have assured us that no political message was intended," Low said on the matter in his press conference on Thursday.
"For me, it's no longer an issue within the team and the sporting aspects will now take over."
