Danish striker Peter Lovenkrands has indicated he would be open to extending his stay at Newcastle. The 29 year old joined the Magpies from Schalke in January on a deal that expires in the summer.

He told TV2: "It is a great club to be in, and I hope that we stay up and that I can be a part of that.

"But you never know what will happen in the world of football - if they wish to keep me, or whatever will happen."
